      Geeta Dharmarajan is a writer, editor, educator and visionary who was awarded the Padma Shri for her distinguished service in Literature and Education in 2012. She is the founder and executive director of Katha, a publishing house and a “profit for all” organization that works “with and in story telling” through its own schools, government schools, reading programs and community-based initiatives (that include income-generation programs for women). Along with heading Katha, Geeta Dharmarjan is also the Chairman of the National Bal Bhavan.

    • Dr. Jyoti Sahi

      Dr. Jyoti Sahi Vishram, Silvepura, Bangalore

      I was born in Pune in 1944 to a British mother and Indian father. My Father who was teaching at that time in the Scindia School in Gwalior, was the following year invited to be the head of the English Dept. of the Doon School. Most of my childhood was spent in Dehradun. I studied art in London at the Camberwell School of Arts and Crafts. The person who taught me art as a child, Sudhir Khastigir,was among the early students to pass out of the Kala Bhavan in Shantiniketan, where he had received his schooling. So I was formed in the Bengal School, initiated by the Tagores, through Khastigir; and it was his idea that I should study at this London School of Arts and Crafts, which had links with Dartington College (inspired by Shantiniketan).

      Dr. Lois Hetland MASSART - Massachusetts College of Art and Design, Boston, USA

      Dr. Lois Hetland, Ed.D., is Professor and Chair of the Art Education Department at the Massachusetts College of Art and Design and Senior Research Affiliate at Project Zero at the Harvard Graduate School of Education. Trained in music and visual arts, she taught elementary and middle school students for 17 years. Currently, she co-leads the Studio Thinking Network, a monthly online conversation among educators who use the Studio Thinking Framework.
