Induction programme for new teachers

CERTAD has conducted induction programmes for new faculty in

  • Mallya Aditi International School over the past eight years
  • The Peepal Grove School in 2006 to create a core of teachers who initiated the school

This programme, that can extend between two to three weeks, has introduced new faculty to the ethos and vision of the institutions and helped them to understand their own values in the light of the values of their institution. This has resulted in faculty working as a team with a shared vision in a spirit of openness that has enabled any tensions to be solved with understanding and meaningful dialogue.

In addition, the induction programme caters to an understanding of basic tenets in education, including introduction to a range of pedagogies and classroom management techniques such as planning, assessment and curriculum development.

This is what they have to say:

"I thoroughly enjoyed each day of the induction. It helped me gain more confidence, learn more teaching techniques and above all interact with such a good bunch of people, trainers included!"

"The induction programme was a stimulator, an eye-opener, and thought-provoker!"

"I liked the way the induction was structured, with periods of listening interspersed with active participation and games in-between serious thinking."
