Children's book - Assamese folk tales

This project has been an attempt to document some of the Assamese folk tales that my grandma told me as a child. I started by going back to Assam and re-listening to the stories and extracting a few that were uniquely Assamese. The translation was done keeping in mind the way my grandma brought them to life through her narration. While my illustrations give cultural cues through the accurate representation of clothes and objects, they also have a contemporary edge.
